How we do business

Conversations Over Coffee, Not Corporate Pitches

We acquire and invest in established professional services businesses across the UK, helping founders protect their legacy, look after their people and shape the next stage of growth.

Selling your firm, or taking investment into it, is one of the most personal decisions you'll ever make. You may have spent twenty or thirty years building it: the clients who have trusted you through every stage of their lives and businesses, the team you hired and trained, the reputation that carries your name, the culture that makes the place yours.

None of that shows up properly on a spreadsheet, and none of it should be handed to a faceless buyer working through a checklist.

So we don't start with heads of terms. We start with a coffee. We want to understand you, your business, what matters to you, and what you'd like the next chapter to look like. That might be retiring completely, stepping back gradually, or staying on with the investment and infrastructure to grow faster. Only once we understand that do we talk about structures and transactions.

We're founders ourselves: entrepreneurial, approachable and in no hurry. If it turns out we're not the right home for your business, all you've lost is an hour. And the coffee's on us.

Accountancy

Accountancy practices

You've been your clients' first call for years. We keep it that way: same faces, same service, with investment in technology, talent and capacity behind you.

Legal

Law firms & legal services

Reputations built matter by matter, client by client. We protect the name on the door and give the firm the backing to grow.

Financial services

Financial advice & services

IFAs, wealth managers, pension, protection and mortgage specialists. It's the sector we come from, and where our track record was built.

Why this matters

The Cost of Poor Succession Planning in the UK

Most owners of professional services firms have no plan for what happens next. Without one, decades of work can end up balanced on a knife edge: clients unsettled, staff uncertain and value lost. A conversation early on changes that.

About Ashleigh

A Founder Who Understands What You've Built

Manchester born and bred. Mum of three. Full-time taxi driver. Part-time referee. Somewhere amongst all of that, I also run businesses.

I'm Ashleigh Cherry, founder of Neo Wealth, a Manchester-based wealth management business, and the driving force behind TAG Investments.

I built Neo Wealth from the ground up, so I understand exactly what it takes. The late nights, the difficult conversations, the pressure, the setbacks, and the quiet pride when everything finally starts to come together. Those experiences stay with you, and they shape every conversation I have with a business owner thinking about the future of what they've built.

My background is in regulated financial services, so I understand compliance, the weight of client relationships, and the responsibility that comes with running a practice where your name and reputation are on the line. That's as true of an accountancy practice or a law firm as it is of an advice business. The technical detail differs. What makes these firms work doesn't: trust, good people, and doing right by clients.

I'm not a broker and I'm not looking for a quick deal. I'm genuinely interested in good businesses run by good people, and whether there might be a conversation worth having.

Astyn Booth New

Head of Business Development

Astyn is usually the first person a founder speaks to at TAG. He leads our conversations with the owners of accountancy practices, law firms and financial services businesses across the UK, from a first coffee through to introductions with Ashleigh and the wider team. Straight-talking and discreet, he is there to listen to what you have built and what you want next, not to pitch.

Our Story

A Different Approach to Business Succession

TAG Investments was created to offer something increasingly rare in today's acquisition market: a long-term home for businesses built on trust, relationships and reputation.

We partner with founders of established professional services businesses across the UK, from accountancy practices and law firms to financial services businesses, helping them protect what they have spent years building while supporting the next stage of growth. Whether you're considering retirement, succession planning, or simply exploring your options, our approach starts with understanding what matters most to you, your clients and your team.

We are not a private equity firm chasing short-term returns or looking to impose a one-size-fits-all corporate model. Too often, businesses lose the culture, identity and relationships that made them successful in the first place. That is not how we operate.

Having built and grown our own businesses, we understand the responsibility that comes with taking on a founder's legacy. Our role is not to reinvent what works, but to preserve it, strengthen it and help it thrive for years to come.

Every conversation is confidential, founder-to-founder, with no pressure and no obligation.

Because succession isn't just a transaction. It's personal.

TAG Investment Group Formed

TAG established as the vehicle for continued acquisitions. Multiple firms joined the group, each preserving their own identity and client relationships.

Today

Accountancy, Legal & Financial Services New

TAG brings the same founder-first approach to accountancy practices and law firms alongside financial services, building one joined-up professional services group.

Our Track Record

Trusted by Founders. Proven Through Experience.

Our track record so far was built in financial services, the sector we come from. The principles behind it are exactly what we bring to accountancy and legal firms: continuity for clients, care for teams, and promises kept.

Holborn
Distressed rescue & acquisition

Holborn Assets UK

Holborn Assets UK, part of the wider Holborn Group with over £2 billion in assets under management and 24,000 clients globally, went into sudden liquidation in 2023. Overnight, hundreds of UK clients found themselves without an adviser, without clarity, and without anyone they could trust. Many held complex pension arrangements, offshore structures and international investments requiring specialist expertise.

We stepped in immediately. Every client contacted. Every arrangement reviewed.

Today we retain 100% of those clients. Not because they had to stay. Because they chose to.

Davis & Bradbury
Protecting a founder's legacy

Davis & Bradbury

Before Alan Davis passed away, he had one simple wish: that his clients would continue to be looked after and that his wife, Jane, would be financially secure.

At a deeply difficult time for both family and clients, we stepped in to provide continuity, support and reassurance. Every client relationship was preserved and every commitment honoured with the same care and integrity that Alan had shown throughout his career.

Today, Jane remains part of our wider team.

Bridgewater Financial Services
Retirement & succession

Bridgewater Financial

After more than 30 years serving clients and building a respected business, the owner of Bridgewater Financial reached a natural point of succession. He was ready to step back from the day-to-day responsibility of running the firm and pursue his own ambition of travelling the world.

We acquired the business with a clear focus on continuity. Clients remained supported, staff were reassured, and the relationships built over many years were protected.

The founder got the retirement he'd worked for.

Neo Wealth
Built from the ground up

Neo Wealth

Founded in 2021, Neo Wealth is the business Ashleigh built herself: a Manchester-based wealth management firm delivering personalised financial planning to individuals, families and businesses across the UK. Within its first two years, the business grew organically to over £100 million of assets under management.

Client focus. Regulatory integrity. A long-term mindset.

Every acquisition decision we make is driven by the same things: high standards, protected client relationships, and sustainable growth.

Our Vision

Building Something Truly Holistic

We're bringing together the advisers people rely on most, their accountant, their solicitor and their financial planner, into one joined-up group. Clients get genuinely connected advice. Each firm keeps the identity that made it successful.

One joined-up group

Accountancy, legal, wealth and protection, all under one trusted group.

Your name stays on the door

Each business retains its brand, people and client relationships.

Decades, not exit dates

Building sustainable value for founders, clients and teams over decades.
